Missio definition

An AI impact assessment evaluates what an AI system is intended to do, who may be affected, how the context changes its risk, what harms and benefits are foreseeable, which controls apply, and what exposure remains after treatment. The depth should follow materiality rather than use one form for every system.

The assessment should inform a decision. It should identify accountable owners, evidence gaps, conditions for release, monitoring expectations, and circumstances that require escalation, reassessment, or withdrawal.

Scope note

This definition supports executive and operating decisions. Applicable law,

contracts, sector rules, and system context may require a narrower definition.
