A credible AI strategy is a set of funded choices, not a list of use cases. It should define the business outcomes that matter, the evidence required to continue investment, the portfolio to scale or stop, the operating model, the governance boundaries, and the capabilities required to deliver.
Six decisions
- Define the enterprise outcomes and constraints.
- Inventory active, proposed, acquired, and embedded AI.
- Evaluate value, feasibility, risk, dependency, and evidence.
- Choose the portfolio and sequence capital deliberately.
- Establish ownership, decision rights, governance, and delivery capacity.
- Fund a roadmap with measures, review triggers, and stop conditions.
Strategy remains current only when portfolio evidence changes funding and execution decisions.
